What is your wish for 2009?

It's that time again, and I'm thinking ahead to my wish for the new year.   I wish that people would begin to put children first -- ahead of business plans and restructuring and face time and genomes and bail outs. I wish that no child would have to live without the essentials of food, water and medical care and especially a loving heart to care about them. I wish that schools would exist for children and not children for schools. And though I know that these things can't happen at once, I wish that the smallest of mind shifts would begin and that it would effect a change that started things moving in this direction.  That's not too much to wish for, is it?

What is your wish?  It doesn't have to be such a big wish; in fact, it can be for something very small.

I'm wishing to get out of debt. It's selfish, I know. But I want nothing more then not having to worry about money any more. I want to learn how to spend wisely and save when I can. That may be an impossible wish, but I hope it comes true just the same!

Brandie that is such a GREAT wish, all the way around, and I know you have a lot of company, especially this year. I've had many years when that was my main wish, and since I'm a firm believer in positive affirmations, I know you'll make that happen this year!

My wish for my family in the new year, is that my own grown children become self sufficient and independent, and that my husband and I can begin to enjoy our middle age together. Also, for our country, I wish for our troops to come home and that our new president be wise and honest. For our world, I wish for peace and hope and end of aggressions. Thats a tall order, I know. But you asked...LOL.

For 2009 - I'd love an end to the economic downturn that the US and the world is in.

Thanks for visiting my blog.

I would love to see the issue of poverty addressed in more meaningful ways. I hail from a continent that is at the moment in a self congratulating mood re: the econmic world situation and how Australia is paused to be one of only 2 countries that will survive it without too much pain. Of the 10banks listed by the OECD as being financially triple A rated half of the are Australian banks. No bank-bail outs here. Thats fine and my hat is off to the Rudd Government for their wise policies. But along the way we seem to forget that no matter what happens to those that "have" those that "have not" seem to have the essentials for living firmly out of their normal day to day grasp. I would like to see the OCED have a rating for the country what is eliminating entrenched poverty the most. Its a long ramble, but thats my wish.
