Proximity Award

Thanks so much to Elizabeth Golden at "the last door...down the hall." for thinking of me with this Proximity blog award. Elizabeth is a very talented artist and photographer from coastal North Carolina. She very regularly receives awards for her amazing blog, which is a colorful, eclectic mix of vibrant photographic images, delicious recipes, vintage photos (which she gives as freebies) and thought-provoking quotations. She's currently doing a "photo a day-door series" that I find fascinating, focusing on small door details like hinges and knobs.

Eight is a big number for me... so I'm going to limit myself to three when it comes to giving awards. (I once heard someone say the three wise men each brought one gift and 3 gifts is all any of us should give or receive.) The three people who come to mind for this particular award are below. 1- Holli, whose "Three Wishes" blog is full of amazing photos and amusing anecdotes and who gives so MUCH of herself to all of the Chicks on Lit as our unofficial Ambassador of goodwill and good cheer. I can think of no blogger who does more to "aim to find and be friends."

2- Jo, whose "Diggin Around" blog is the most faithfully updated blog I know of. I feel like I've gotten to know a lot about Jo by reading her blog every week -- and there is always something interesting to read.

3-Arte-e-faque, who has several blogs but whose artistic and often humorous images on her Altered Yesterdays blog always impress me with their creative nod to looking at life through rose-colored glasses.
