10 Years Later - 9/11 Street Memorial

Beginning at 14th Street and stretching north on Fifth Avenue for nearly 10 blocks is a street art display that fills the height the World Trade Center buildings once occupied.  Each floor is marked, and, using the chalk in the cup at each level, friends and loved ones are able to leave messages of remembrance and love.

Floor by floor, year by year, we try to heal.

That is really neat Teri.... I'm happy that someone did that. I really am. What a great place for people to pass by every day and be able to remember and think about it as they go about their business.

how touching. We watched the memorial for two hours reliving that day of horror. I thought Biden's speech really explained the American psyche and was disappointed with the two presidents. in9 my grocery store they stopped everything (when it on central time) for a minute of quiet reflective thought. It is only when you see the children of the victims that you realize how many years have passed. in our hearts it never leaves.

What a simple, stunning memorial... one that we would not have known except for your post. The world weeps, but for New York it is quite personal.

There is something so powerful and moving about seeing that handwritten memorial. It's the small human touch I suppose.

I was impressed by this. To think folks leave it alone and respect it, wow. Glad you made it through Sunday. xoxo
