My children are no longer infants, and sometimes my heart forgets they've grown up. I will always be their mother, and they will always be my babies.
Don't fill up on bread
I say absent-mindedly
The servings here are huge.

My son, whose hair may be
receding a bit, says
Did you really just
say that to me?
receding a bit, says
Did you really just
say that to me?
What he doesn't know
is that when we're walking
together, when we get
to the curb,
I sometimes start to reach
for his hand

Oh, that was a heart-jerker...and so true! xoxo
Teri,
They don't understand, as we didn't, until we became parents. I do the same thing. How funny! We are the roles we have in life.
I loved it.
Love this!!! I say things all the time to my kids as if they are still 5. Glad I'm not alone. I miss my babies.
I have no children and this still brought a tear to my eye!
I love this one - as a child rather than a mum! Sometimes I catch glimpses of the almost-said or said-then-realised-it moments and at the time it annoys me, but afterwards it makes me smile...and I know one day I'll be just as bad!
